Pictures of birds so far: 44... that's embarrassing...

Trips to the hospital: 1
Hours on a boat: 9?
Tuesday, the day before St. Patrick's Day. That was was a really bad idea... that vodka was really cheap, and I was feeling sick for the rest of the day. Tuesday was Booze Cruise day. We had to be at the Marina at 9, we were early, but we still got there. This is the way the day was scheduled to go: Get on the boat, eat breakfast, snorkelers can snorkel, bar opens, stop at the island, donkey ride to the waterfall, lunch, trip back.
We got on the boat and positioned ourselves next to the edge so we could look at the ocean. They served breakfast, which was fruit and yogurt and bread. I decided that an acidic fruit based breakfast wasn't a good idea after the wop the night before. On the way to the snorkeling sight, we spotted a couple dolphins and a whale. Marian was the only one of us to snorkel, and when the snorkelers started coming back, they opened the bar. Free drinks all day. I had two, but couldn't do anymore... stupid wop. Ethan was a total champ though! Before we got to island, we got an announcement over the intercom that the path to the waterfall was blocked by rocks because of an avalanche. Ethan was adamant that all the donkeys had been killed in the process. To get to shore, we had to take a water taxi type system, but because of the waves you had to jump out of the boat when the water was down. There would be a few guys holding the boat in place so people could get out, but it was a rather rushed operation. So we just hung out on the beach for a couple hours. I spent the beach time writing in my journal... so I don't really know what the others were up to. Before I could finish writing, Charles told me it was time to go. Michelle and Marian had already left for the boat. Charles was trying to locate Ethan and Mandi. I just took the next taxi thing and got back on the boat. When I next saw Ethan and Charles, they were soaking wet, and something had hit Mandi in the face. There was a cut on her lip, and she kept talking about her teeth moving. Apparently, as their water taxi thing was moving toward the boat, a wave hit it and flooded it and the boat capsized. Mandi had the worst injury of the group. Also, having gotten to know everyone else on the boat, she was ever so excited to see people she recognized... despite her injury. Apparently she had met a nurse from New York, and this nurse was ever so helpful in assessing the injury. She was rather concerned that Michelle had gotten a concussion and voiced it several times, but we assured her that Michelle wasn't even in the boat that capsized. This is the part where I would tell you about the Canadian that I want to stab in the eye, but I have a feeling it would just make me angry... so I'm going to skip it.
For some amazing reason, Ethan's camera was totally fine, despite being dunked. The camera Michelle was using, Charles' camera, and Mandi's camera were all pretty much ruined. We did manage to recover the memory cards before permanent damage.
Charles went with Mandi to the hospital, along with a few others who had been in the boat. Michelle was not feeling well, Ethan had taken an involuntary dip in the ocean, Marian was seasick... and I was totally fine... except for that wop. I just wish I could have been of more help. We did see a whale jumping on the way back. That was exciting. We got back to land (longest boat ride ever), and took a taxi back to the resort. Michelle really wasn't feeling well, and the driver was very speedy. Quite possibly one of the best drivers I've ever seen. Michelle and I settled in at her parent's room, and Ethan, still covered in sand, and Marian went back to the other room to clean up.
Holly and Mike made food for us, and we were all really hungry. After some rest, some water, and some pain killers Michelle was doing much better. Charles and Mandi came in an hour or so later, and Mandi looked like she was doing better, just some sore teeth and a swollen lip after all. This was definitely going to be a night to call it quits early. Marian, Charles, and Mandi all headed back to the other room early, and Ethan and I stayed a little longer. We still couldn't believe what had happened that day. Michelle was feeling much better, and we all went for a little walk down on the boardwalk. Ethan and I just walked the beach back. It's safe to say we all just passed out that night.
