I can't believe I haven't written this post sooner, but better late than never, right? Well, in early January, I flew to Phō Nix. My sister, brother-in-law, and niece were already there and we figured it would be a good meeting point/vacation. So, I stayed with them for a few days at a resort north of Phō Nix. It was lovely, the weather was pleasant, and Arizona is a beautiful place. The sights were not the highlight of my trip. This was the highlight of my trip:
After they left, I went to stay with one of my good friends from high school. I spent a couple hours on the road and drove from north of Phō Nix to much further south. She is somewhat new to Arizona, so we took the chance to go see some touristy things that had nothing to do with Phō Nix. The first day of tourism, we went to Black Canyon. I'll be honest, there is no black canyon. I looked. I asked. There is no black canyon. Doesn't mean we didn't have fun! We drove up into the "mountains" and I got to see snow for the first time in a long time. We spent a lot of time driving that day. We got a lot of funny looks and did some "off-roading". We have many amusing strings of photos.
