For at least the last 15 years I’ve wanted to go to Montana…. Not the Dakota side but the mountainous west side. It has totally destroyed all my expectations with how awesome it is! The mountains, the forests, the rivers, the lakes, everything is just so perfect! The air is fresh, crisp and clean. The rain is refreshing and cool. The rivers are clear and blue. The trees are tall and lush. I could probably go on and on about how wonderful Montana is, but I might just let you guys come here for yourself.
Yesterday, we attempted to cross Glacier National Park via the Going-to-the-Sun Highway. We got about halfway, Logan’s Pass, and the clouds were impossible to see through. It was also raining. So, we turned around and headed back to Apgar Village. This morning, we attempted the crossing again. Fail. Clouds drove us out. Our solution? Drive to the other side of the park and attempt the highway from that direction! We are on the road as I type this. I can’t wait to post pictures. It reminds me a lot of the Highlands in Scotland. Speaking of which, this is the five year anniversary of my study abroad trip to Scotland. I will have to do a separate picture post to reminisce about the awesome times we had during that semester.
Anyway, I love Montana. I will leave you all with one word that should make you want to drop everything and visit Montana:
HUCKLEBERRIES.
