This was our first Christmas as a married couple. I knit those stockings last year, and we only get one ornament for each Christmas. This is our second Christmas together, so now we have two! We also have an amazing TARDIS tree-topper.
Let me tell you a story. Picture it, Christmas Day 2006. The fountains of Madrid had frozen in the night and all the businesses had closed. This is the day we visited 5 different Starbucks...
... where they spelled my name right without me telling them. And as a Christmas gift to our parents, we called them collect. Eventually we found ourselves standing next to a statue of Don Quixote de la Mancha and Sancho Panza. The pool which stands before them had a thin layer of ice over it. So, as any normal person would do, I started breaking the ice and throwing it farther out into the pool to watch it shatter on the ice in the middle. My sister and I sat doing this for maybe a half an hour... and then other people started doing it.
Yes, even this little old man gave it a try. I knew I was a trendsetter, but at this point I was an international trendsetter!!
On Christmas Eve Day, we wanted to see the bull fighting arena. So we did. It was closed. Right next to it, however, there was an awesome statue that we made good use of. We climbed all over it and made fools of ourselves. Definitely one of my favorite memories.
The 23rd of December 2006. Where was I? I was traveling with my sister still. We were in Madrid, Spain. Fountains and parks, art museums and night life! It was an awesome trip!
This is the day we went to Museo Reina Sofia (the site is in spanish). This is where I discovered my own theories about Picasso and Dali. I also discovered how much I enjoy surrealist art.
