I really like the way he writes. I don't appreciate how he makes me wait 100+ pages to get engaged in the story (obviously there are always exceptions). I love his creativity with language. I love his literary references. I don't like how unnecessarily verbose he can be at times (it happens to the best of us).
For reference, the books of his I have read are: The Shining, Lisey's Story, 6 1/2 books of the Dark Tower series (can't bring myself to finish it), The Eyes of the Dragon, and The Stand.
I would have to say that my favorite of these books listed was Lisey's Story. I absolutely fell in love with his language in the book. When I finished the book I was using phrases like "bad-gunky", "gomer", and "smucking". There hasn't been a book that so affected my language since I read Moby Dick!
So, those are my thoughts on Stephen King so far. I will continue reading his stuff, I have to give him credit for doing that much! Next up is The Talisman.
